Why Pool Headquarters exists
The problem was never a shortage of numbers
Pool owners are not short of information. There is the test kit and the strip bottle. There is the printout from the pool store. There is a calculator someone linked in a forum, a reminder on a phone, a note on the fridge, and a browser tab that has been open since May.
Between all of it you can know your free chlorine to one decimal place and still stand at the water with no idea what to actually do about it today.
Where it came from
Pool Headquarters started with a real pool, a growing pile of test results, and the same question coming back every week: what does this pool need today, and how much of it?
The readings were there. The answer wasn’t.
What it does
You tell Pool HQ about your pool once. You log a water test when you take one. It reads those readings against your pool’s own volume and equipment, tells you what matters today, how much to add, and when to test again.
Every recommendation opens into the reasoning behind it, because guidance you cannot question is just a number from a stranger.
What it deliberately does not do
Pool Headquarters is narrow on purpose. It does not test your water. Its suggested amount should always be checked against, and used consistently with, the product label. It does not pretend to handle every situation, and it will say when something is worth a professional’s eyes.
